Process
Pretreatment
As parts are received from customers, the part,
quantity, and color are logged in to ensure
what customer has requested. The first control point is
pretreatment during
the cleaning process, which involves degrease, rinse
and a phosphate wash which acts as a primer; it adheres powder to metal,
and then rinsed to reduce solids remaining on parts.
Our process does meet the
1000 salt spray test. Powder coating is
specified because of it' durability, scratch
resistance, gloss retention, weather ability,
resistance to chalking, and wide range of colors,
finishes, glosses and textures and meets AAMA
specifications and because it is environmentally
friendly.
Media blasting is used if necessary on products
that have a surface that would hinder adhesion of
powder such as old finish, oxides,
rust or manufacturing product that remain on the
metal.
